All the pinks - a September quilt

It was time for a scrap quilt, and my bin of pinks seemed the most full. I dumped them out and then decided to look through the multi-color bin and add any pinks from that. I think I even found some in a few other bins. It was quite a pile. I was leaning toward a string quilt, and looked through some of my books for inspiration. I ended up deciding on a pattern from the queen of scrap quilts, Amanda Jean Nyberg. Her "Slopes" quilt in her newest book No Scrap Left Behind featured scraps cut into strips and then pieced into blocks. The quilt in her book was all solids, but I figured a scrappy pink patterned quilt would work fine. Mine ended up about 48" square--had to stop when I ran out of scraps the right size.

I finished it off with a polka dot binding and this fun llama flannel for the back.

Love using the leftovers to make something beautiful and snuggly!

And here are two obligatory pictures of my kids from the weekend.
One that worked:

And one that made me super sad when I got home and downloaded it (my son is the fuzzy orange runner in the middle).
 Always something to learn.
