Fridays in July

We continued our Friday fun throughout the rest of July. As mentioned before, our first Friday in July was our hiking day in Taos.

Our second Friday of July were those trips to Midwest City to J & J Cactus and Succulents and then to OK Save a Dog in Prague to bring home our puppy Clementine. Since then my son has interned a bit each week with the owner of J & J Cactus. And we have all learned how to take care of a puppy. That also adjusted my ideas of what to do on Fridays since she is still in the middle of vaccinations--so no areas where other dogs hang out--and she can't be by herself for very long yet.

The next Friday was a plan more for the kids--they headed to visit grandma and grandpa, and took the puppy with them. And that time alone allowed me to finish a quilt that month!

Grace did try to get the dog to pose with the quilt--but not gonna happen, at least not yet.

For the 4th Friday, well, we switched to a Saturday. Grace and I loaded up with the youth and other families from our church to watch an OKC Dodgers baseball game (also known as a sweat lodge). The game was followed by a Rend Collective concert.

With school coming, we decided to try an afternoon clothes shopping trip on the last Friday of the month. We visited Target for some basics, Uptown Cheapskate, and then City Bites for a cookie. Nothing too crazy since they really don't need much right now. I took Grace to the house and Isaac to the Greenhouse for some more plant supplies he was needing. It is one of my favorite places locally to look for plants.

I think that is it for the summer special Friday plans, at least with my kids. School is fast approaching for both of them, including one heading to college. August also means family birthdays, room switching at the house, and other visits with family, so there will be no shortage of things to do. And maybe even a quilt finish if I can decide on a backing!
