Out and about - Middle School Refresh

At the end of the week, after a full summer for several of our middle schoolers, they all joined together for a revised sort of three day daycamp. Falls Creek or any other camp was not an option, so our youth minister worked to create a mini version for our high schoolers and middle schoolers. I ended up joining them on two of the days to help with transportation, pictures, and just spend a little time outside away from our home town.

The first day was Wichita Mountains.

We started with Little Baldy while it was still early and they had some energy. And we all decided the best way up was straight up. They of course spent a lot of time counting all of the millipedes they could spot on the way. I stopped paying attention at some point but it was way over 30.

After that was a lunch stop at the Prairie Dog area, then on to one more short hike.
Then back home for a nap.

The next day I headed to work at the office, and they headed off to work at the Baptist Children's Home campus in Moore.

And then they were apparently inspired to do gymnastics.

The last day was at our church's Falls Creek cabin, although they didn't spend much time inside there either
More upside down time.

Soccer pass in kickball. I could tell it was also a mental struggle to pick up that ball when she was in the outfield!

The crowd favorite was definitely exploring this part. We stopped at Smokin Joe's for BBQ and then headed home. So thankful for the cooler weather considering that it is August (it was MUCH hotter the day the high schoolers visited here a few weeks ago).
