Out east

For our summer family vacation, we ended up traveling to Eastern Oklahoma. That certainly cut down on driving time! We spent time outside hiking, checking out the town, and visiting some state parks in the area, as well as hanging out in our hotel reading and eating. Some food we prepped for ourselves and dinner each night was takeout from a local restaurant. As I look back at my pics, I must have liked being outside the most.

Robbers Cave State Park (our first visit there of the vacation):

Arrowhead State Park:

And then Lake Eufaula State Park:

The next day we stayed in town, with a trip to the local soccer field and a walk through the downtown area in the afternoon. This was from a building there in McAlester.

The next day was back at Robbers Cave State Park, with a brief rain delay for our horseback ride, and then on to more hiking:

The rain had cooled it off for awhile, but by the end of the hike we were ready to get back inside.

We ended the trip with a birthday celebration for my husband and daughter with family in the Tulsa area and my one food picture!

Now we are all back to our usual routines, waiting to see what this school year will bring, but enjoying these last few days before all that begins.
