The holidays

The first recipe is one that Isaac and I recently made, sugar cookies. We used my mom's recipe, which has minimal ingredients and is easy to make.

Judy's Sugar Cookies

1/2 c. butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 to 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

In medium bowl, cream together butter and vanilla. Gradually add sugar and continue creaming. Add egg and blend well. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt; add to mixture and blend thoroughly. Divide dough into two parts. Chill thoroughly 1 to 2 hours so it will be easy to handle. Roll out dough on floured board and cut out shapes as desired. Bake in preheated 375°F oven for 7 to 10 minutes.
