the last May quilt

I did it. I finished it. I had to stay up later than usual, but I knew I wouldn't have much sewing time in the next two weeks, and I wanted it done. I also had my son take this picture of me.

I was trying to pin the quilt but tornado sirens were going off because of the tornado warning in the area. The radar showed the storm way south and west of us so I just kept working. BUT I was prepared to go to the basement. My laptop was in the backpack, making it a little heavy for all that leaning over and pinning.

The quilt pattern is called Chevron & On by Megan Bohr. As I think I said before, I found it in the Mar/Apr issue of Quilty magazine, which is one of my favorite quilt magazines.

Most of the fabric is from the teal half of the Les Amis collection by Patty Sloniger from Michael Miller. It has some really cute animal prints as well as some great patterns.

I did a scrappy binding with leftovers from the fat quarters. Seemed like a better use for them than sticking them in my ever growing stash and scrap bins. I got the backing from JoAnn's. It didn't really have a name on the binding.
