Our Spring Break was last week. We didn't have big plans because us grownups still needed to work and I had just returned from my own trip. But with these games starting back up
mixed in with these meets
as well as my daughter's soccer games and probably a few of these parties,
I thought we should probably take advantage of a free weekend and take a short overnight family getaway. Dallas seemed like a good idea, so off we went. Road construction dampened our enthusiasm a bit but eventually we made it to our hotel.
We enjoyed some good food and some swimming the first night. I was a bit startled to discover their indoor pool had open skylights, letting in quite a cold breeze that day. But we did get to swim.
The next morning we headed to the Perot Museum of Science and Nature, spending a couple of hours working our way through all of the exhibits.
At this point the room became a solid mass of people--and we were hungry. After a quick lunch at the museum we hit the road back to Oklahoma. We even took a detour at Paul's Valley (after a quick stop for some cookies) down the old highway rather than the bumper to bumper construction zone. We were almost the only car on the highway. It was lovely.
