the last November quilt: Christmas Stars

With a cold rainy and long holiday weekend, and a bit more time on Monday, I was able to finish the Christmas Stars scrap quilt. All of the Christmas fabrics were scraps from two previous Christmas quilts, with a bit of red scraps to add some variety. I just needed to add a bit of Kona white and TA DA, a new quilt:

As mentioned before, the pattern came from here. I think I even ended up using a similar binding.
I love so many of the little fabrics, especially the Charlie Brown ones:

I chose a small scale fabric for the backing to balance out the busy scrappiness of the quilt top.

So glad to finish another quilt on my Finish Along list, although I didn't realize at the time it was going to be a Christmas scrap quilt! An empty quilt bin meant time to plan another--and of course I couldn't stop with planning out what to do. Another quilt top is almost done. I'll save it to share when it's done. It really was a long dreary hang around the house weekend!

I will probably sell this throw size Christmas quilt since I already have one, so if you are interested let me know. It may take me a day or so to add it to the etsy site so keep checking. The quilt is for sale here. Between now and December 18, all quilts on the site are 25% off. I need to clean out some space and quit hogging all these quilts!

While I was out taking quilt pictures this morning, I discovered a frosty garden. We will pick some for salad tonight and see how it tastes. Some of the plants, like the kale, are supposed to be ok in the cold, but not sure about all of them.

Looks like warmer temperatures are ahead, perfect for growing kale and radishes--and keeping me from holing up in the sewing room. At least sometimes I have company now:
