October quilt 2 -- dotty

One more quilt as the month ends. This one started as this:

and ended up like this:

I had a bit of a rough time trying to hang it up anywhere for the photo, so it's a bit draggy on the irises.
I couldn't decide which size I wanted to make the dots--and then decided both sizes would be fun. Cutting circles was less so.

The back is three different flannels, all super soft and the main reason the quilt is a keeper. I love the front of the quilt too of course. It is always great to finish a quilt and like what I've made! I finished it off with a scrappy binding to cut down on the leftovers and it coordinated well with the top. This is quilt 1 planned finish for the 2016 Quiltalong.

Now I have a lot of little projects started all over my desk. November is a bit of a crazy month so not sure if I will have any finishes. I've started on this scrap/charm pack project,

And I've started tackling some double diamond blocks with another charm packs--and learned that I don't follow directions well.
Chopped these all up and then realized I was supposed to do half in the other direction.
I corrected that and made a few more and then discovered I was chopping off the corners, so back to the instructions. Hoping I make a bit more progress on the next few. Once I get them all assembled I should be able to make something similar to another of my designs from the 30 Days of Quilt Design challenge. If they end up looking like diamonds when I finish them.
