Mountains - September quilt 2

After sorting through what I knew about sewing together triangles, I pieced this quilt together row by row. It was another sew and learn project. The bottom row was the first one--I definitely got better as I went along!

I chose the colors I wanted to use to coordinate with the flannel I wanted to use on the back, this fun animal print from Joann. I kept it small enough to keep from having to piece the flannel backing.

There were some triangles left after laying out the rows. Those have been pieced together in squares to use in a different baby quilt.

For now I've moved on to another one, until I buy more of the off-white solid fabric. I certainly have plenty other projects to choose from!

  2. Your method of choosing fabrics for this quilt is that way that I tell my students to begin (when they aren't confident with color.) Works EVERY time!! Your new quilt included, of course.

  3. Good for you for finishing this one up, making note of the lessons learned, and moving on to the next project! : )
