July quilt #1

 This quilt started with a pile of fabrics:

It took me awhile to think throw how I wanted to use them in a quilt. The colors seemed along a more formal, classic kind of vein, so I drew up a design using a mix of colors with a regular pattern--and a lot of white--to keep that classic, crisp, more stylized type of look. 

I still had patterned squares left so I used some of those on the pieced backing.
